Nordstrom Anniversary Sale - Canada Edition

I am always on the hunt for a good sale, if I can avoid paying full price for an item I will do pretty much anything in my power to do so. When shopping I tend to stick to the end of season rack to find those great 75% off stickers. I personally love high-end designer items, but simply I can not justify spending $200+ on these items. So when I heard of the Nordstrom sale coming up mid-August I was immediately interested.
This was the first year I heard of the sale - I am not sure how that happened since I'm always on the lookout for a bargain. As soon as I saw some of my favourite influences talking about the sale I knew I needed to look into this. A jacket regular $210 now on sale for $124?!? I needed to find out more.
After a couple of hours research and speaking to some customer service reps for Nordstrom, I figured out what was going on and knew I needed to share with my Canadian folk incase there was anyone else as confused as me. Unlike our American neighbours, we do not have the same system and sales going on as they do. So I've collected information for us Canadians on the differences and what you can really expect.

So here is the low down..
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale offers brand-new arrivals at sale prices from top brands. Prices go up after the sale, so it's important to note that this is a pre-season sale. Nordy Club Ambassadors and Nordstrom Visa cardholders get to shop the sale before everyone else during Early Access (in stores only). Simply signing up for a Nordy account does not grant you early access, you must be considered an Ambassador (have spent $5,000 the year before to get this privilege) - unlike our American counterparts who have a varied tier system,
The sale opens up to all other Nordy Club Members and public shoppers on August 19th. In the past the sale has always been for in store shopping only - however due to COVID-19, Nordstrom has implemented online shopping experience to keep people safety at home. The online sale opens up August 20th.
Unfortunately there is no preview catalog for the Canadian site - however there is an American one and you can find it here. Now, I think that many of the items will be similar between the Canadian and American sites - however I would not recommend having your heart set on any items incase they are not available for us North of the boarder. I'd also note that though the prices look great, this is in USD currency, so there would be a bit of inflation once our stores open up their sale.
With that being said - I have created my own Wishlist with a couple items I hope they release here in Canada. Majority of my personal clothing items I try to purchase either second hand or from sustainable, eco friendly companies. Therefore I am a huge proponent of thrifting items that are used only for specific seasons or considered trendy. I will however splurge on staple items that are meant to last years in the closet. I consider these things good quality jeans, boots, jackets/coats, jewelry, bras, your go to LBD and one or two sweaters.
With being 8 months pregnant and not exactly knowing what my body will look like in the next year or two, I am staying far, far, FAR away from jeans and bras. However I am hoping I can update my closet with the following items:

I've never been one for purses or jewelry, but shoes have always been my guilty pleasure - I guess that's why they take up more than half of my Wishlist. When it comes to buying shoes I always make an effort to purchase faux leather shoes - therefore although these are on my Wishlist, if any of them turn out to be genuine leather I will leave them behind. Being someone who follows a plant-based diet, I do find that it runs into my day to day lifestyle and fashion choices as well. All the products were listed on the website as synthetic uppers which I understand as being man-made and not genuine leather.
I do hope I am able to purchase these items in Canada - and will keep you guys posted on what I come home with on August 19th!
